Osip2.0, Bruton BA10 0LN( 9 miles)  www.osiprestaurant.com. For foodies, a Michelin Star restaurant in Hardway, Nr Bruton starring Chef Merlin Labron-Johnson. An excellent small farm-to-table restaurant situated in the heart of Somerset offering a set 6 course menu and an a la carte menu of the most delicious and inspired food.

*The Botanical Rooms, The Newt in Somerset, Nr Bruton BA7 7NG(3 miles) Book for lunch in their light and airy restaurant and you get free access to the stunning gardens after lunch. Fine dining where the menus are dictated by their gardeners. Also 'Horns & Pigtails' dining room available for private hire  for 14-16 people. 

Briar, Bruton, BA10 0AB (4 miles) Newly opened by Sam, it offers humble, unfussy and delicious food offering a connection with rivers, fields and forests around them. Open for breakfasts, lunch and dinners. Wednesdays-Saturdays.

Da Costa, Hauser & Wirth , Bruton  BA10 0NL(4 miles)   Newly opened September 2024,  great legendary Italian food alongside a contemporary art gallery & gardens. Open Wednesdays-Sundays. Alongside Da Costa, the amazing Roth Bar offers signature and classic cocktails, sharing boards, great burgers, pastries and sweets(Thurs-Sun).

*At The Chapel, Bruton  BA10 0AE(4 miles) C17th converted former chapel with an outside south facing dining terrace with blankets and heaters – a relaxed atmosphere for all day dining (pizzas a speciality) with a BAKERY and wine shop on site. Open 7 days a week. CLUB ROOM downstairs often have events including music and talks/book launches.

The Old Pharmacy,Bruton (6 weeks) This is an adjunct to Osip restaurant led by Michelin* Merlin Labron-Johnson. Wine bar and dining area with plenty of sharing plates.  Open Wednesday– Sunday lunch/evenings.

The Creamery, Castle Cary station (4 miles) Opened August 2024, serving amazing eat in or food to go, using homegrown produce from The Newt in Somerset.

Horrell & Horrell, Brooklands Barn, Sparkford (2.5 miles) This is a unique new micro dining experience located 5 minutes away in an very cool open sided barn with outdoor kitchen celebrating the best homegrown and local produce. A long refectory table seats up to 50 people, but individual couples are equally welcomed to join in the feast. (Thurs-Sunday) Private functions welcomed.

For people renting the whole house, Steve and Jules Horrell also do outside catering for events/dinners/food drop offs which is suitable for parties renting Hewletts Mill as a whole house. Alternatively you can book your own house party in at Horrell & Horrell - we highly recommend the food, but be sure to book well in advance for multiple numbers. Although it is always worth a try booking last minute for individual couples or smaller numbers.

The Clockspire, Milborne Port  DT9 5BA(8 miles) An exceptional restaurant and bar in a stunning setting. Good cocktail bar and amazing food; first class service.

The Lazy Lobster, Castle Cary BA7 7AW. Opened September 2024, quality local fish restaurant. The menu is sharing and ever evolving as the seasons come and go. Open Wednesdays-Saturdays.

Alfredo’s,  Somerton TA11 7NB Newly opened Italian, great food.

Inoshishi Izakaya, Frome  BA11 4LH (16 miles) Newly opened Japanese restaurant. Expect an authentic Japanese culinary experience. Open Wednesdays-Saturdays.

*The Queens Arms, Corton Denham  DT9 4LR (4.8 miles) Lovely gastro pub/restaurant with an outside terrace, lovely walks from the pub.

The Three Horseshoes,Batcombe (9 miles) A beautifully restored 17th century coaching inn set in the picturesque village of Batcombe, now a great foodie gastro pub under the management of Margot Henderson (Rochelle’s, Shoreditch).

The Kings Arms, Charlton Horethorne  DT9 4NL (5.5 miles) Great gastro pub/restaurant. 

*The Red Lion, Babcary TA11 7ED (6 miles) Atmospheric pub/restaurant. Good Sunday lunches. OPEN 7 DAYS a week for food.

*The Beckford Arms, Fonthill Gifford SP3 6PX (22 miles) Excellent atmospheric gastro pub/restaurant- good stop off for on the way down to us or on the way back up to London. Lovely beer garden.

*The Orchard Inn, Galhampton  BA22 7BA (1.5 miles) Serving honest pub food. Takeaway menus available. Fish & Chips every Friday are the real deal!

*The George Hotel, Castle Cary (2 miles)  BA7 7AH  Local hotel/pub in the high street of the lovely Market town of Castle Cary.

*Teals Food Market- 1 Orchard Lane, South Cadbury BA22 7FS (1.75 miles, by A303). An amazing new Food Market. Own brand deli coffee, inspired hot and cold food, butchery, take away food and a selection of great gifts.

*The Garden Café, Hadspen, Bruton(3 miles)The Newt in Somerset, Cafe serving home-grown food, overlooking the beautiful gardens. Booking advisable. (Membership required to get into the gardens to access the cafe)

The Story Pig, Lavender Keepers Cafe & Shop (Gold Star* Taste of the West),  Sandford Orcas, DY9 4FG (8 miles) All food is homegrown; their lavender field cafe is a little slice of heaven on the Somerset/Dorset border. Open Thurs-Sun 10am-3pm. Pizza nights early on Friday nights from 5-8pm
