Amenities

Hewletts Mill is a great place to chill out with friends and have family fun. There's lots for children to do here; tennis court, outdoor heated swimming pool (May-September), heavenly hide and seek in the gardens, wooden Wendy house, tree house and a large football net on the main lawn.

It's a wonderful house in which to entertain, with a well equipped kitchen, great rooms, lots of space and big dining tables that seat 14, both in the galleried hall and out by the pool. There is a pizza oven and a gas BBQ for the use of guests taking the whole house or you can experience an intimate dinner (for up to 6) in front of  a warming fire in the Provence inspired logia. Help yourself to fresh vegetables and herbs in season from a well stocked veg garden; you can even arrange your own flowers from our cutting garden.

Hewletts Mill is set in 3 acres of both formal and informal gardens with various waterways and ponds (guests do need to take extreme care around the water especially with young children). One of the highlights is the hydropower waterwheel situated at the rear of the 18th Century Mill house which the owner installed in 2009. There are lots of mature herbaceous borders, neatly mown lawns and plenty of mature trees. Adjoining the gardens is a 4 acre paddock with the mill leat starting at the far end which is ideal for duck races (ducks provided!); just across the stream is a cider apple orchard. Ooh and there is a well stocked log shed for cosy fires on colder days.

Two popular footpaths, the Leland Trail and the Macmillan way intersect in the paddock at Hewletts Mill. There is also a very good network of footpaths around the local fields as well as down quiet country lanes.
